Those days in Europe hold many stories: to transfer to Poland, I took a 22-hour round-trip journey alone on a hard-seat train, prompting the admissions officer to remark that it was the first time someone had ever come in person; I argued my case when rental car staff secretly swapped my vehicle model; and I once responded to racial discrimination in a group chat with humor. If judged solely by outcomes, that period wasn’t marked by glamorous triumphs, nor did it culminate in a victory celebration with red carpets and flowers. Nor did it transform my entire life as some claimed simply by being in Europe. It was merely an interlude in life’s marathon—not a magic button that changed my destiny.

从大学时写下第一行 ‘Hello World’ 开始，我带着好奇与些许胆怯，第一次正式推开了计算机世界的大门，也羞涩地向互联网打了声招呼。或许有一天，我这个普通人也能成为它的一份子。那时的课程只是入门课，但让我第一次真正理解了编程，这个曾经高冷神秘的词汇突然变得平易近人，也让我看到了技术背后无限的可能性。
我的本科是中外合办的动画专业，研究生阶段曾在欧洲攻读国贸和市场营销。半年的跨国学习经历让我开阔了视野，也让我意识到换个赛道、回国发展更符合自己的目标。见过不同的教育体系和文化环境后，在跨学科学习中获得了另一种视角：用创意的思维解决问题，用商业逻辑整合资源。我选择将这些所见所学融入到实践中，并所以回来后我决定亲手打造自己的第一个网站：从域名注册、digitalocean服务器租用，到部署 WordPress 并个性化定制网站布局与设计、内容创作和推广，全都是我一个人从零摸索完成。更有意思的是，这个网站几乎没花多少钱——我用上了 GitHub 的 Edu Pack 等免费资源，主打一个‘用最小成本实现最大价值’，充分利用手头资源解决问题，让整个项目更像是一场精益创业实践，完成了从零到一的过程。
From the moment I typed my first line of “Hello World” in college, I cautiously yet curiously pushed open the door to the world of computing for the first time, shyly greeting the internet. Perhaps one day, even an ordinary person like me could become part of it. Those early courses were merely introductory, yet they gave me my first real grasp of programming. This once distant and mysterious term suddenly felt approachable, revealing the boundless possibilities hidden within technology.
My undergraduate degree was in animation from a Sino-foreign cooperative program, and I pursued graduate studies in international trade and marketing in Europe. This six-month cross-border learning experience broadened my horizons and made me realize that switching career paths and returning to China aligned better with my goals. Having encountered different educational systems and cultural environments, I gained a new perspective through interdisciplinary studies: solving problems with creative thinking and integrating resources with business logic. I chose to integrate these insights into practice. Upon returning, I decided to build my first website entirely on my own:From domain registration and DigitalOcean server rental to deploying WordPress and customizing the website layout and design, content creation, and promotion—I figured it all out from scratch on my own. What’s even more interesting is that this website cost almost nothing—I leveraged free resources like GitHub’s Edu Pack, focusing on achieving maximum value with minimal investment. By fully utilizing available resources to solve problems, the entire project felt like a lean startup experiment, completing the journey from zero to one.

Along the way, I’ve come to realize that school merely opened the door for me—true growth comes from proactive exploration and self-directed learning. This website stands as the best testament to my learning abilities, resource integration skills, and problem-solving capabilities. It has also convinced me that everyone can leave their own unique mark on the internet world in their own way. Though I’m not a computer science major, I’ve managed to independently build my own online space.
